The twist to the glitch
LYRICS
Uh we have detected a glitch in the system..
And I stumbled out the bathroom, right down avenue B, thought that we were meeting
I think its you, I think its me, we don’t fit here..now
You’re the only one that sees me, only one at my speed
And we data mosh away
They’ll try to hang on but we data mosh the game
Oh my God I think I’m breathing harder, I move into the light, just so you can see me I’m-
Me I’m a pixelated frame
I bring you to the red room
Damn I really like you, you must not be human
(vocal breakdown)
You must not be human
Me I like, me I like
This language that we’re tuned in
Bring you to the red room, God knows that I like you
They were already in their “huh”, already in their “huh” like dead set in their ways
I take it at face value
Looks on your face leave me mesmerized, I’m hypnotized
Leaving me mesmerized
And I bring you to the red room
Damn I really like you, you must not be human
God knows that I like you
You get my sense of humor
(vocal break down)
I’m the twist to the glitch babe, you and I, you and I
Ah no we’re never gonna fit here

I heard this song in 2016 after graduating high school. It felt personal. It felt like the song was picking a fight with me or teasing me. I had never felt that way upon listening to a song before. Toward the end, the vocals ring out a line “You’re the twist to the glitch”. This line stuck to my bones for some reason, forever wondering exactly what that means. Since then, I’ve longed to make my own project under that title and expound on what that line means to me. My track is less haunting and arguably less polarizing. I took things in a more playful direction with the idea in mind that there are those of us who feel like a glitch in reality. When we find another person who feels that same way, something special happens. It’s loving

As the song and video were forming, I introduced this project’s idea publicly with a variety show in Denver. The Twist to the Glitch Variety Show featured an assortment of artists who can relate to the concept. They each brought their own understanding and energy to the idea and presented it live. It was magic
This location is by far..the most interesting spot I’ve ever stumbled upon. It’s called Miller Farms. I passed by what appeared to be a field full of old air crafts, U boats, and other unusual contraptions off of Highway 66 in February. I was instantly obsessed. As the song continued to come together with Stephen Patrick, I realized that this location had to be incorporated into the visual. I mean my God..it is quite literally a glitch of some sort. A magnificent oddity. So, a couple months later I visited the lot and approached the people that lived on the property, %100 anticipating a harsh no after asking if we could film there. To my surprise, they were thrilled about the idea and were willing to let us shoot.

I envisioned this scene in 2019. I was living in a 5 story walk up apartment in NYC and wanted to do a long form version of this sequence. The camera would follow me from behind as I make my way up to the apt. I’d open the door to find about six people in my living room pointing finger guns at me, expressionless. They would then pop off confetti guns/cannons and the video’s tone would shift into celebration. For me it made a lot of sense to use this in the twist to the glitch. When you feel like a glitch in reality, you bump into a lot of illusions and surprises. That “gotcha” feeling becomes familiar. It was a dream come true to finally bring this to life. Massive thank you to Jordan and Hunter at altr. agency for making this happen.
Yes, those are stove top burners I’m wearing. I wanted all of the wardrobe styling to feel slightly “off”, and what’s more “off” than wearing a piece of a common kitchen appliance? The centers are spray painted red to drive home the red room theme. The heat. The twist. The glitch
On Sept. 25th at Leon Gallery in Denver, CO, I premiered the Twist to the Glitch in a room full of my favorite people. The digital realm is saturated with individuals releasing their creations. To share something in person makes the work feel worth while and as though it truly reached someone. I’m grateful to Leon Gallery and everyone that showed up that evening. This is a VHS capture of my live set
On the left is the twist to the glitch inspired tattoo designed by @koiboy that everyone had the chance of winning at the T2G video premiere party. I cannot wait to see it on Becca’s body!
On the right is the twist to the glitch inspired necklace designed by @P.Jewels attendees also had the chance of owning. Meghan White was the winner <3

This is an exclamation point on the end of the Twist to the Glitch. Koiboy designed a 1/1 piece for my raffle at the music video premiere in September. The original raffle winner decided not to go forward with the tattoo, so I drew another name! Siah, my dear friend who also happened to be in the music video is the name that I pulled. Here it is completed. I’m :’)
