The night before seeing her I caught myself rehearsing answers, references, artists, and things I felt would impress her/bring me to her level. Before I got out of my car I calmed my nerves and I said fuck that. Quit performing, for once in your life. Be unsure, be open, be authentic, be vulnerable but not as a means to illicit sympathy. Be fine with not having heard of everything that exists. So, that is the energy I showed up with and as far as I know right now, it was righteous
